If I’m not the star, I’m quitting!

Posted on 4/28/2018 by Greg Yoder

Bethany asked us on Facebook, “If my son wants to try out for a part in a musical, do I let him quit if he’s put in the chorus?” These are great teaching moments, aren’t they? Here are my thoughts. First, if we let our kids quit when they don’t get what they want, what are we teaching them? Secondly, if their heart isn’t into being in the chorus, do we let them participate if their attitude is bad? Every situation is different, but we encouraged our kids to stay on teams when they knew they weren’t going to play much. Why? It helps them understand that everyone is needed to make a team, even those who may not play much in games but help tremendously in practice. Scripture tells us to do all as unto Christ.
