Have you ever noticed when we say, “It’s a God thing” that we’re usually talking about something good? You know what I’m talking about. You weren’t sure how you were going to pay the mortgage, but God provided a check in the mail. “It’s a God thing.” What about those moments where you just don’t see a way out? You’ve lost your job. You’ve lost a third of your retirement. You’ve gotten news you’ve got cancer. Is that also a “God thing?” My pastor said this, “If our ‘God thing’ in our theology never includes a ‘suffer-ing’ we give up the true thing for a false thing.” Jesus died on a cross. Wasn’t THAT a suffer-ing? God uses ALL things for His good. Even the coronavirus.
